Reigate travelled to Sunbury on a blustery first day of summer to be invited to bat in bowler friendly conditions. Openers Richard Oliver (26) and Ollie Sykes (22) batted with caution before a couple of quick wickets put the visitors on the back foot. Angus Dahl (39) and George Ealham (15) steadied the ship, for Fraser Sheat (52) to go through the gears and put Reigate in a position to propel the Llamas to a competitive score. He ran out of support however, as the lower order crumbled. In tricky conditions, the Llamas had a total they could bowl at, finishing on 178ao.
The Sunbury innings started positively with Sam Burgess (38) doing the bulk of the scoring, but Reigate sensed some momentum and kept the squeeze on for the first hour. Martin Andersson (88) and Nico Reifer (47) weathered the storm though, as the home side cruised to victory with 8 overs to spare, just 3 wickets down.
A disappointing result for the Llamas following 3 straight victories, but last years champions ran out deserved victors, as Reigate look to bounce back against Sutton at Park Lane this week in a return to the red ball format (11am start).
