Oliver & Crosthwaite Lead The Way

Reigate hosted Esher on a sun drenched bank holiday Saturday infront a packed crowd in what was sure to be an exciting game between two good sides.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat on a good looking pitch and after seeing off the new ball, skipper Richard Oliver (92) and no3 James Crosthwaite went through the gears in an enterprising partnership of 176.

The Llamas had a platform to launch and whilst losing wickets regularly in the quest for quick runs, amassed a competitive total of 251-6 from their 50 overs.

The Esher reply was equally as cautious in the powerplay as Fraser Sheat and James Taylor asked plenty of questions. The key wicket was always going to be West Australian star Teague Wyllie and with Reigate applying plenty of pressure from both ends, he finally succombed to the deep for a skillfully crafted 78.

The visitors were in the hunt right til the end but multiple wicket takers Sheat, Angus Dahl and Tommy Ealham were well supported by Taylor, Richard Stevens and George Ealham to cut the chase to 233ao.

A gripping game, with the Llamas travelling to Sunbury this Saturday, aiming to make it 4 wins in a row to start their season.
